How to Make a GREAT Burger

Wanna make a GREAT burger? Follow these steps with me…
What you need:
2 pounds ground beef (80/20 is GREAT!)
1/2 scant tbsp salt
1/2 heaping tsp pepper
1/2 tbsp minced garlic
1 large egg
Bolillo Rolls
(Before you start making the burgers, get all of the condiments out you’ll need. Butter, Mayo (the real kind!), ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, pickles (Claussen!), sliced avocados, bacon, etc… Then, you’ll be ready to eat right when your burger is ready.)
Place all ingredients (except the rolls) into a bowl. Using a fork, mix lightly until well combined.

Do you see these rolls? They are way better than hamburger buns. We were in the mood to grill burgers one day, and all I had were bolillo rolls. Not one to skip out on making food just because of a missed ingredient, we tried it… I’m so glad we did! It is essential to creating a delicious burger! On a side note, I just googled bolillo, and what do you know? It is a Mexican sandwich roll (similar to French bread). No wonder I LOVE it! You know how much I love Mexican food!

Okay, back to the recipe. Take the ground beef mixture, and form the patties to fit the roll but just slightly longer. Once you’re finished, the patties are ready for the grill. Don’t forget to get out the cheese if you’re making cheeseburgers.
While my hubby is grilling the burgers, I slice the rolls in half to create a top and bottom bun and butter the inside.

You are going to grill the rolls, but be very careful. Place them indirectly over the heat (on the sides of the grill) to prevent burning. You want to lightly toast the bread on the inside. Turn the rolls over to very lightly toast the outside too.
You’re ready to put your mouth-watering burger together!

Add your toppings. Don’t forget the mayo! If you are using avocado/tomato slices, put them on the burger before the lettuce. This helps prevent them from falling out of the burger… I do this mainly for our kids, and it works!

Now, savor each bite!
